At the core of the Seattle Storm is the promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle. In order to help everyone reach their goals and be their healthiest, the Storm developed StormFit. This fitness program for kids and teens develops lifelong fans of the game of basketball — and good health — through on-court camps, clinics, and open community practices.

The 2020 StormFit Basketball Camp has been cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions. We look forward to hosting camp next summer. Check back in early 2021 for details on camp and how to register!

Basketball Clinics
The Storm teamed up with local community groups to host basketball clinics throughout the greater Seattle area. In 2019, we offered five free clinics where Storm players joined participants in on-court drills and competitions. Our clinics benefitted participants from Girls on the Run at Quil Ceda Tulalip Elementary School, Highland Park Elementary School, International District Chinatown Community Center and Special Olympics Washington.

Healthy Living Program
This incentive program was a motivator for all Seattle Public Schools K-5 students to reach a classroom established goal. P.E. specialists signed up during the school year before the start of the Storm season. Teachers had the freedom to decide how to incorporate the incentive into their own classroom goals whether centered on attendance, participation or performance in specific sports or exercises.
